Father Christmas brought me a lot of Hello Kitty stuff this year...he obviously knows me very well. I was also very lucky to get two pairs of Jeffrey Campbells, I wasn't expecting to get one pair let alone two! Check out sales on Jeffreys online, (espesh Office), both of these pairs cost under £50. I had a brill Christmas, too much breadsauce and pudding wine, and lots of Crimboli tv in front of the fire. Been working a lot recently, but trying to blog little bits and bobs I want to share often rather than spending ages on an outfit post once a month. I hope everyone who celebrates had a good Xmas! xx

Heads up busty ladies - Wonderbra sale!

Photobucket
I've been really good and saving my pennies from working to go towards uni accommodation costs, but one thing I have bought in the Christmas sales is a Wonderbra I have been lusting after: the 'Ultimate Strapless bra'. I'm not particularly humongously chested (D/DD) but have yet to find a strapless bra that doesn't need a dignified hoik up every 5 minutes. I tried this one on in Debenhams at uni and did a thorough test leaping around the changing room like a loon to see if it slips, but it doesn't, and reviews on various websites seem to confirm my scientific study. I did consider buying from the Wonderbra site but the sale is actually better and shipping is free through Debenhams. This isn't sponsored or anything (lol I wish) I just thought I should give bloggy readers a heads up, Wonderbra is normally ridiculously expensive! Click here for boobage controlling goodness! xx

Shironuri Fashion ♥

I thought I should start doing more Japanese culture posts on le blog as it's something I'm really interested in! This is a fashion subculture I heard about today called 'Shironuri', I came across this video with this adorable girl called Minori who follows Shironuri and found it really interesting.

Her website is here if you want to see some of the photoshoots from the video. I've never come across this subculture online before, the only thing I got from watching the video is the central theme to Shironuri is you paint yourself white ('shiro') and I really want to know more about it - deffs going for a Shironuri blogger hunt! The earthern shoot in the video is gorgeous, reminds me of a woodland fairy. I've followed j-fashion blogs of gyaru and lolitas for yeears now, let me know if you guys are interested in underground Japanese fashions because I will do more posts like this! xx

Went on an autumn walk to le park with two of my flatmates and took these. I'm smirking in all of these trying not to laugh while my flatmate was taking them, I'm so used to just doing it myself with a tripod! Also please enjoy the excellent editing in the first photo, literally an editing genius. Think I'm going to try and take more outfit pics outside as it just makes the quality so much better. Not sure how many weird looks I'd get dragging my tripod down to the park though...xx

Polishes - Natural Collection in Winter Moon and Jessica in Starry Night

Just a quickie. This is how I had my nails this week, I wanted something wintery looking to match how cold it's getting. Feeling a bit blah and flu-y today (thanks body) so making the most of feeling sorry for myself in bed by writing up some blog posts. Hope everyone is having a good weekend! xx

FOTD #11 | Hollywood curls

Photobucket
Photobucket

Hi guys, sorry I've been so absent again! Had a Japanese history essay to write (never want hear 'Fujiwara' again) and it was my proper ~university~ essay to hand in that actually counted towards my first year mark so was ploughing through that. Anyways while I procrastinate I've been watching more beauty gurus on youtube and found this great tutorial on curling your hair to make proper glamorous 'hollywood' style curls. While the actual curling itself isn't anything new I did pick up some good tips:

Photobucket After you curl each section of hair, let it coil into your palm (like a necklace) and spray the coil with a little bit of hairspray.

Photobucket For a more glam look place your parting deep set to the left or right.

Photobucket Backbrush the roots of the pieces that frame your face for more volume.

Photobucketwhen you curl the pieces of hair nearest to your face/fringe, place the curler behind the section so the heat is against the root and volumizes the curl.

Please excuse the fact my hair is in need of a good dye! Moar posts soon xx

Manchester Vintage Fair + Street Style

On Saturday I visited the Manchester Vintage Fair. Sadly I am a poor student (hurry up student loan) so didn't buy any clothes but I did take lots of pictures! There were lots of stylish people wandering around too, so I plucked up the courage to get some street style snaps for the first time. Some people were a bit like 'err, okay' but most people were lovely, and no one said no!

Halloween!

Just some quick photos of what I wore on Halloween! I bought this dead dorothy costume and then covered myself in fake blood. I used the thread from a Motel tag to make stitches, and then stuck them to my face with eyelash glue - so easy and effective. I copied Judy Garland's hairstyle from the wizard of Oz and it's so cute, quite want to wear this daily but it is very cutesy! Trying to get back into the blogging swing of things, more posties coming sooon. xx

Blue Ombre + An Update!

Hey guys! Sorry I've been so MIA on the blog front. With uni (compared to home) I actually have stuff to other than sit around and be bored of the countryside, hence less blogging time! I changed my dip dye to blue about a fortnight ago, I layered it straight over my previous green and pink and it took really well surprisingly. The blue over the green has given it a pretty multi-tonal blue effect so some parts are turquoise/teal. I used La Riche Directions Atlantic Blue, and am v impressed with how long the colour lasts, have only had to redye once so far.
I also went to see Marina and The Diamonds at the beginning of the month. She was so good! Excellent voice and her costumes were gorgeous, a pink satin crop top and matching pencil skirt with fluffy slippers and another similar ensemble but with a heart motif on the bust. So cute ^^
My hair was still pink and green then! I curled it really ringlet-y but they'd sort of dropped out by this point. Also of course had the obligatory heart on the cheek, and I wore a hair bow and mary janes. I very rarely smile with my teeth so please treasure the experience.
Earlier in the month I also had a minor 'celeb' experience, my friend and I met the two guitarists from We Came As Romans in a rock/metal club and they invited us to go on guest list to their gig the next day. I'd only heard of WCAR but didn't realise how famous they were til I got home that evening, was so excited! They invited us to hang out with them backstage *groupie* but we weren't given backstage passes in the end. We still managed to go to a £14 concert for free though and see bands like Bless the Fall so evening well spent imo!
On Wednesday I went to a pre-Halloween party in the flat next door. I went as a dead maid, with my Ann Summers (lol) maid's costume I wore to the Rocky Horror Show last year on. I also wore skeleton tights by Henry Holland and made my throat look like it had been cut. I'm getting a different costume for actual Halloween, thinking of possibly being a zombie nurse?!
We also made a roast as a flat a couple of weeks ago. One of the things I miss most about home while at uni is having Sunday roast! We spent ages scouring the city for an organic halal chicken so all flatmates could eat it, and somehow several packets of Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings became involved. Even though we had roast chicken. I hope you enjoyed this long rambly update post. I'm on reading week now so hopefully more soon ^^ xx

I tidied my uni room so thought I'd give you guys a room tour :) I bought loads of posters from home and got 60 free photo prints from Tesco so my room felt very homely. Having walls that aren't bare definitely helps with settling in! I'm going home this weekend for the first time in a month, so excited to see my family and my dogs; and also have a square meal!! xx
