Nailed it: Stained Glass Nails | Tutorial

Hi guys! I haven't done any nail art for a while, and after doing this I feel like I want to start making fake nails again. This is pretty easy to do and even if you're right handed and very un-ambidextrous like me it's not too hard to do on the other hand - other than outlining the nail is a little tricky. I actually love the look of outlined nails, it gives your nails such a nice shape as weird as that sounds.

Essentially all you need is a black nail art pen, and a few assorted other colours of nail pens. My favourite in terms of easiest of use is the Barry M Nail Art Pen as it works as a pen (no need to squeeze as you use, colour doesn't get blocked in the tube, easy to control thickness of line etc), but the Models Own/Wah Nails collab pens are pretty good too. I also used a base colour as I was just going to leave my nails red before I did this, but you can skip this and just fill in your stained glass 'panels' individually.

I painted a base with the Barry M Gelly colour, then outlined my nails using the black pen and created the stain glass panels a la the ASOS tutorial I was inspired by below. Then I filled in the sections with different coloured nail art pens and finished with a top coat.

Check out the tutorial above which shoes a much neater and profesh version of mine, will definitely be trying this look out with different colours, maybe pastels? What nail art designs have you been loving recently? xx

Beauty Wishlist ♥

beauty wishlist 1

1) Real Techniques Silicone Liner Brush - £5.99

I read about this on a beauty blog today and it sounds absolutely amazing, I've been searching for the elusive perfect eyeliner brush, and haven't had much luck with the R.T fine liner brush; but this one sounds pretty good.

2) Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat - £9.00

I've read pretty mixed reviews on this from DO NOT BUY to 'holy grail of topcoats', so definitely want to buy this and see if it's any good!

3) L'Oreal Heat Protect Spray Straight - £5.99

Running low on my current heat protector and I've read reviews on this and plus I love the classic Elnette packaging.

4) Daniel Sandler Watercolour blush in So Pretty and Angel - £15.50

I hardly ever wear blusher as I naturally have a pretty ruddy complexion (read: farm girl complexion) but these are so raved about online I'm dying to try a shade or two!

5) Rimmel Apocalips in Nova and Across the Universe - £5.99

I actually have the shade Nude Eclipse but have yet to review it, I didn't like the colour but omg the texture of the product is amazing, they feel almost high end!

6) Illamasqua Sealing Gel - £7.00

Again another cult/raved about product, I have a almighty stash of bright eyeshadows that I'd love to turn into eyeliners.

7) MAC Liquidlast in Point Black - £15.00

My all time favourite liquid eyeliner, pain in the ass to get off but will not budge even if you dive into a pool wearing it (I have tested this personally).

8) Collection lasting perfection concealer - £4.19

The holy of grail of concealers on the UK highstreet, I have bought a MAC one since my last tube runs out and it just doesn't do the job as well as this £4 beauty does.

Have you got any products that you'd recommend or that are high on your wishlist at the moment? Let me know! xx

Soap & Glory Scrubatomic | Review

Soap & Glory Scrubatomic £9 - on offer in Boots for £6!

I had up until recently been using Soap and Glory's Flake Away for my face and body but I ran out recently and decided to try this out after reading Fleur de Force's review (I hardly buy any products these days unless they are well reviewed by beauty bloggers). I loved Flake Away but I feel it was probably too harsh to use on my face as it is a body scrub, but Scrubatomic is PERFECT.

It has that signature peachy Soap & Glory smell (which Flake Away also has) and makes your skin feel amazing. I have oily skin but I get flaky bits around my nose and this keeps them at bay, and I noticed a marked improvement in my skin after starting to use this within a few days. I use it in the shower (only a few dabs) and moisturise afterwards. Definitely recommend buying this and I will be repurchasing! xx

Bra £18 - Topshop

Okay well this isn't a haul as such but I picked up this uber cute Topshop bra the other day. They have some really cute lingerie in at the moment, especially loads of Disney print undies so deffo worth checking out as a Valentine's Day gift to yourself or to drop hints to whoever you're spending the day with! Plus I love it when you get the cute printed paper bags in Topshop, how nice is this foil print one? Yes I am a complete sucker for merchandising...

Hi guys! I've been meaning to do this for a while, here is my room for my second year of university. One of the best things about moving into a house this year has been the upgrade to a double bed from a single. Beds in university singles seem to be smaller than normal singles, and if you have people over trying to share a single bed with someone brings new meaning to the phrase to be packed in like sardines. The only downside of my room is the creepy attic cupboard at the back, which opens from the suction (?) of my bedroom door shutting. So I've moved my bed against it today so sort the problem. I'm also on the top floor so I have to climb two flights of stairs to get to my room, but hey it's the only exercise I get so I'm not going to complain.

The next one of these posts I do will be on my year abroad, of my room in Japan!! xx
