Blue Ombre + An Update!

Hey guys! Sorry I've been so MIA on the blog front. With uni (compared to home) I actually have stuff to other than sit around and be bored of the countryside, hence less blogging time! I changed my dip dye to blue about a fortnight ago, I layered it straight over my previous green and pink and it took really well surprisingly. The blue over the green has given it a pretty multi-tonal blue effect so some parts are turquoise/teal. I used La Riche Directions Atlantic Blue, and am v impressed with how long the colour lasts, have only had to redye once so far.
I also went to see Marina and The Diamonds at the beginning of the month. She was so good! Excellent voice and her costumes were gorgeous, a pink satin crop top and matching pencil skirt with fluffy slippers and another similar ensemble but with a heart motif on the bust. So cute ^^
My hair was still pink and green then! I curled it really ringlet-y but they'd sort of dropped out by this point. Also of course had the obligatory heart on the cheek, and I wore a hair bow and mary janes. I very rarely smile with my teeth so please treasure the experience.
Earlier in the month I also had a minor 'celeb' experience, my friend and I met the two guitarists from We Came As Romans in a rock/metal club and they invited us to go on guest list to their gig the next day. I'd only heard of WCAR but didn't realise how famous they were til I got home that evening, was so excited! They invited us to hang out with them backstage *groupie* but we weren't given backstage passes in the end. We still managed to go to a £14 concert for free though and see bands like Bless the Fall so evening well spent imo!
On Wednesday I went to a pre-Halloween party in the flat next door. I went as a dead maid, with my Ann Summers (lol) maid's costume I wore to the Rocky Horror Show last year on. I also wore skeleton tights by Henry Holland and made my throat look like it had been cut. I'm getting a different costume for actual Halloween, thinking of possibly being a zombie nurse?!
We also made a roast as a flat a couple of weeks ago. One of the things I miss most about home while at uni is having Sunday roast! We spent ages scouring the city for an organic halal chicken so all flatmates could eat it, and somehow several packets of Aunt Bessie's Yorkshire puddings became involved. Even though we had roast chicken. I hope you enjoyed this long rambly update post. I'm on reading week now so hopefully more soon ^^ xx

I tidied my uni room so thought I'd give you guys a room tour :) I bought loads of posters from home and got 60 free photo prints from Tesco so my room felt very homely. Having walls that aren't bare definitely helps with settling in! I'm going home this weekend for the first time in a month, so excited to see my family and my dogs; and also have a square meal!! xx

Just a v quick post! Wore this to uni last thurs, was so tired after 4 hours of uni things in a row. My concentration span ends after the 2 and a half hour point. This is my favourite combo to do with black crackle polish, the gold varnish stands out so much that they kind of look like nail wraps from a distance. Hope everyone is having a good week, off to try and get the pink out of my hair. It's a nightmare colour to remove! xx

Stuff I bought with my student loan

A shop in town was closing down so everything was £5, so I picked up 7 things - including 3 galaxy pieces. I now own two galaxy maxi dresses, can't get enough of space print!

I picked up a whole load of stuff in China town. It's literally the death of me (and my bank account). Tons of tiny hidden away shops packed with Japanese characters goodies like Hello Kitty, My Melody, Rilakuma etc.
Photobucket
Bought these chopsticks just for the fact they're so beautiful and colourful (and cheap). Going to give them to my parents as a pressie when I go home!

Gloomy Bear is a popular character in Japan. Quite morbid but still cute! I had to do a uni homework on my favourite thing so I wrote about it, because purse is the only vocab I could thing of...
Photobucket
My new Totoro pencil case (character from the studio Ghibli film my Neighbour Totoro). My Japanese teacher saw it yesterday and went: 'えええ!  ととろ ですね?!' ('Oh it's Totoro!') and then laughed hysterically for about 6 years.

And a Totoro pencil holder.

Pocky was so cheap! It lasts me about two seconds though as I stuff my face with the stuff.
Photobucket
And of course I couldn't leave without something Hello Kitty! My crackberry can literally not take anymore phone charms, so she's the last addition to my collection.
Just so you guys don't think I'm misspending my loan, I did have to spend over £100 on textbooks - thus I had to go shopping to cheer myself up - logic. xx

My Born This Way Ball Experience

I just realised I never posted about going to see Gaga! I went to see the BTWB at Twickenham on September the 8th, and it was absolutely incredible. I went with my bestie who is also a massive fan and we had the best time. We got a few odd looks travelling from hers to London (me in spiked litas, fishnets, skimpy lace body, leather jacket, judas make up and side pony), but soon we were joined on the train by other concert attendees and little monsters so got fewer odd looks.

Besties nails which I made for her bday

My nails (Kermit got smudged), when we got the arena 3 nails pinged off when I went to loo and tried to undo my shorts. So much fail.

The crowds just going in and out of the stadium were INSANE. There were a lot of police cordoning people off so traffic could actually get through as hundreds of people were crossing the road. When we got there we had missed Lady Starlight but caught about half of the Darkness' performance, and their more well known stuff like love is only a feeling and I believe in a thing called love. Justin Hawkins has an amazing voice, especially live his falsetto was amazing and his tattoos are incredibly beautiful and colourful. Don't really dig his Dali moustache but I find him uber good looking.

After the Darkness finished I reckon we had about a 40 minute wait before Gaga came on, and twice Fame adverts played on the big screen which drove the crowd crazy. Eventually the stage lights dimmed and the castle was revealed. Gaga came out in what can only be described as like glam-rock masked Alien costume, carried by male dancers on what looked like a very realistic horse singing Highway Unicorn.

Me and my bestie looking srs bsnss in our specs.

She then launched into Government Hooker (my fav songs on the album are a toss up between Scheisse and G.H so I literally DIED at this point)
I'm not gonna lie, it was difficult to not get emotional at first that the tiny figure on stage, whose work and message I've adored for 3 years was in the same place as me. I know it sounds so ridiculous but she really means a lot to me, I think she's an incredibly inspiring and intelligent woman and a great role model. Her words and activism have really helped me with things like self-esteem, positivity, confidence and to be as open minded and considerate a person as possible. Gushing aside - it was an amazing evening with gorgey costumes, scenery and dancing.
Photobucket
The show actually got cut short, so we didn't get to see Poker Face, Alejandro or Americano performed sadly. Here is one of my favourite parts of the night when she performed Scheiße...

(Sorry for the duck face, my friend said I looked like Joan Rivers XD)

What we wore!
Me: Earrings - Ebay - Necklace - Vintage - Body - New Look - Leather Jacket - Topshop - Shorts - River Island - Belt - ASOS - Fishnets - Ebay - Shoes - Jeffrey Campbell
India: Jacket - DIY - T-shirt - Motley Crue - Shorts - DIY

So that concludes my BTWB experience! I had an incredible time, I can't wait to go to the Art Pop Ball! That is unless anyone wants to buy me a plane ticket to go to the US for her American leg of the BTWB...xx

This is what I wore to uni on Monday. I picked up this baroque bejewelled print midi skirt in an amazing vintage shop in town. I also bought a cute floral playsuit which I'll do an outfit post on soon. The stuff was kind of pricey but everything was too pretty to resist! I'm trying to be more adventurous with my style now I'm a big city, a lot of people turn up to 9am lectures in leggings and uggs, and I swished onto the bus this morning in my skirt feeling a bit like a fortune teller. Probs too overdressed for 3 hours of seminars but oh well! The lighting in my uni room is better than my one at home as the wall is directly in front of a window, hopefully will make a habit of taking an outfit post everyday when I get back from unaay. xx

FOTD #10 | Lady Gaga in Milan - Versace make up

Hi guys. Trying to snap pictures quickly in between sitting in my room eating Pocky and skiving lectures doing uni stuff. Gaga was in Milan recently for the BTWB, and was photographed hanging out with Donatella Versace and she looked AMAZING. Seriously Tara Savelo (her make up artist) created some amazing looks, uber glamorous. I decided to vaguely mimic the look for a night out on Friday.
Photobucket
Apologies for the awkward selfies, can't remember where I've put my mini tripod I use for fotds! I didn't wing out the liquid eyeliner as much as Gaga's as I have really low eyelid corners, so not much space to flick the liner out. Also didn't wear falsies either which really glam up this look. And didn't put the liquid eyeliner far under my eyes as it makes them water like hell. And wore berry lippy rather than a neutral pink. So yeah err very vague mimicking of her look!
