What's in my bag vers. 2 ♥

The last time I did one of these was two years ago when I'd just turned 17, click here if you want to read my post then! I love having a nosy at what people have in their bags (in blog posts obvs...not poking through people's unattended belongings and so forth)

The amount of Hello Kitty I own is actually getting ridiculous, I love how matchy matchy my Ipod touch and crackberry are though :3 xx

Babyliss Waving Wand Review

I have naturally curly hair but normally I just straighten the crap out of it because it makes it far more manageable, as it's extremely thick. My curls are normally frizzy ringlet-y and I wanted to try defining them rather than getting rid of them all together. I bought it after seeing it on this Fleurdeforce tutorial, I found it cheapest on Ebay here, normally this wand is about £30 from Boots.

I tend to use it on the highest heat setting, it comes with a sexy heat protection glove but as long as you're careful and hold it at 90 degrees (see Fleur's tutorial above, tis very helpful) you won't singe yourself.
Photobucket
I tend to curl my hair til it's poodle curly (see below)
Photobucket
Then brush it out so the curls are more soft and Lana Del Reyish:
Photobucket
You can also put it on a low heat setting for more relaxed waves..
Photobucket
To conclude I would really recommend this wand, it's cheap and allows you to create waves and curls with not much hassle - especially if you're a massive noob at hair styling like me! xx

I bought more crap

Been a bad blogger again!! I went to go stay with my friend at uni for the weekend and had such a good time, seeing what it's like makes me excited for going to uni myself this September! Anyway I bought some things I don't need (per usual) last month...am trying to shove as much of my paycheck into my savings as poss before uni, figuring out how much student loan will actually pay for (turns out not a lot) nearly gave me une cardiac.
Photobucket
Dress - River Island - Coat - Primark
My friend I was staying with has the same dress so we had to take it in turns to wear it on nights out. It's literally the ultimate LBD, but there is so much padding in the cups you can't wear a bra - though I have tested it for nip slips with some vigorous dancing and there were no unwarranted nip nip emerges. Really wanted a faux fur coat and I got this is in Primark on sale for only £20, pretty much an exact dupe of a RI I was watching on Ebay that sold for twice the price. Bargain.
Photobucket
More gothic earrings from Ebay, and these die ones I picked up in Primark are shoulder grazers they're so long.
Photobucket
All of this is HMV, they have so much good shiz in there! I would love a real HK tattoo but I'm too much of a wuss.
Photobucket
I got Creepers...sort of. They're more like platform trainers, and at £28 they were much more reasonable than   the price of a pair of Underground Creepers par exemple. I still haven't worn them though, I think they'd probably be dangerous to drive in as they're so heavy!
Photobucket
This was an extremely unnecessary order from MAC, I wanted Matte and couldn't find it in any of my local MAC concessions and then I felt the urge to top up the order to get free shipping. I needed a new liquid eyeliner so I bought the Liquidlast Liner and a lipstick in Creme Cup.

I will try and do take outfit post tomorrow before work. They're a nightmare to do because my camera is shit, and as soon as I start setting up my camera in my brother's room (the only suitable place to do outfit posts) there is a possibility of nosy parents asking stupid questions like 'what are you doing?' Normally I reply with 'errr taking a picture of my outfit to see if it looks good??'...they still don't know about my blog trololol xx

Pink Ombre! ♥

Was going to tone my ombre on Sunday to make it less ginge and more blonde and I found a tub of La Riche Directions in Tulip in my 'dye drawer' so I decided to try out a bit not thinking it would take very well as my hair wasn't very blonde - but it turned out so bright!

Photobucket
Makes me glad the place I work is very laid back! Also can't tell whether MAC foundation is literally a miracle worker or the second picture was taken in excellent lighting...I'm going to put it down to MAC and my Sigma f80 brush which I aime muchly and will try to review soon.
Photobucket

I laaav it so much, keep getting distracted by the fact my hair is bright pink! Also it should look nicer as it fades too, looking forward to getting a pastel pink colour the more I wash it. If anyone is thinking about dyeing their hair an unnatural colour I really recommended La Riche, just look at all the shiny shiny colours:

Photobucket
The colour I'm using at the moment is Tulip, have tried Pastel Pink and Lilac before but they're too light for my hair :/ I'm thinking next I will try Lagoon Blue or Turquoise! xx

Topshop Unique - Mermaid Love

I just went on Topshop.com and good lord they have some pretty stuff at the moment! Their current unique collection is Ancient Egypt themed but with a couple of gorgeous mermaid-y pieces. My fave is the floor length mermaid slip dress, no idea what I would wear it to but I imagine when I am rich I will just wear it around the house in all it's mermaid-y gloriousness.
Photobucket
All above from Topshop Unique

Below are more mermaid-y inspired things that are not from the Unique collection and are cheaper. From my mermaid nerding out I know that Neoprene is the material they use to make swimmable mermaid tails for films etc, so the Neoprene Bralet below may be literally the next step to becoming a mermaid. I love the silk shimmer pleat skirt too, so pretty!

And just for the hell of it here are two screenshots from my fav mermaid film (and the only Tom Hanks film I've ever seen) Splash...

Do you like Topshop Unique's new collection? And what's your favourite mermaid film?! xx

Glossy Box January Review

The packaging for the box was absolutely amazing, and I thought the sweet inside was a really cute touch. However I received anti-aging/anti-wrinkle products again, and at 18 I'm not worrying about my skin needing to be more firm, so I gave them straight to my Mum as she uses Clarins. I've been using the primer too and although it's a little dark for my skin tone til I rub it in very well it seems to be helping make up stay in place. The eyeliner is alright - I was excited to receive an Eyeko product but I'm not sure I really get the extended end concept and the eyeliner did smudge a bit after a few hours.

This is my last Glossybox because as much as I love getting those printed boxes from the postman:
- £12.95 a month is still a lot of money
- I don't need more small bottles cluttering my room
- It seems like more money is going into packaging than the products
- Too much skincare/perfume samples as opposed to actual make up

However I have discovered two products I love from Glossybox: The HD Brow Kit (will be buying another), and Stila Smudgestick Waterproof Eyeliner (went and bought another in black). I just know I'll kick myself when I'm at uni next year thinking of the money I could've saved each month if I keep up with Glossybox! What are your thoughts on Glossybox? Good value for money or not? xx

Motel Rocks: Fiver Friday Dress

I was unaware that Motel did this but I happened to see on their facebook page (here) something called 'fiver friday' where they reduce one of their dresses (this time the Blake dress in pretty rose navy) to £5 so I grabbed it quickly, with free postage too! I wasn't going to say no to a motel dress for a fiver incl postage!! It arrived this morning..
Photobucket
Photobucket
I was a bit nervy because of the cut out low back but with this epic bra it looks fine.
Photobucket
Photobucket
Such a bargain! I find motel does the best body con, the material isn't so thin you can see what you had for lunch and although this dress is snug on me it's still flattering. I now own two Motel dresses, mucho exciting. can't wait to wear this out! Does anyone else have any motel party dresses? xx

Someday Summary #1

1) Greetings loyal followers, sorry I haven't blogged in about six thousand years, been a combination of ill /heartbroken. Had a fab time in belle Paris, til about 3 days before I left, when I got food poisoning from a dodgy eclair which wasn't fun to say the least. You don't want to feel like chundering every two seconds when you're in one of the most beautiful cities on earth.
Then I got home and the shittiness continued when my lovely boyfriend decided to cheat on me and break up with me (via skype...). Turns out being cheated on is like sticking your head in a bucket of eels - very unpleasant and not a feeling you will forget quickly.

2) Buuut on a lighter note my dog had puppies when I was in Paris, they look like adorable glossy baby otters at the moment, will post pics soon! Also need to edit the pics I took in Paris with my snazzy Photoshop trial. Compared to Picasa, Photoshop is the most complicated thing evarr and makes my brain want to explode. Have two days off work so am going to take some outfit photos, draft some post, catch up on everyone's blogs and reply to comments. xx
