Little bits and bobs I've picked up recently

Some things I picked up in Mallorca...
Photobucket
Rings from Mallorca, 2 euros each
Photobucket
Adorable little spider earrings (even though I hate spiders), only a euro
Photobucket
4 euro dream catcher...honestly this was such a random purchase. Thinking it will look nice in my uni room though.
Photobucket
Collection 2000 clear polish, Revlon Grapefruit Fizz
Photobucket
Collection 2000 Waterproof Fast Stroke liner (deffo not waterproof), Revlon Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm in Passion
Photobucket
All Bourjois!
Photobucket
This is my fav recent purchase, and quite a 'trendy' (ew) design for M&S! Originally spied it at full price which came to about £45 and I thought I couldn't justify it so didn't buy...only for it to go on sale and I snapped it up for £17.50 including postage, le bargain of the century! Thinking the star charms will give me some interesting tan lines though...xx

Out of 80 pictures I took (YES, 80) these were the best of the bunch. Apparently my camera hates the outdoors and every photo I took of me it made the background look all nice, but turned me into ghost girl in blindingly white light. Also I managed to crop my shoes out of all of these so they have become knee high shots. So overall I think we have established I am not going to become a profesh photographer.
Really keen beans (like stalkerishly keen) will notice that this is the same backdrop I used for my first ever outfit all the way back in 2009! Click here for 16 year old georgie with a bit of side fringe. I also forgot to mention it was my blog birthday on the 24th, Sequins and Beads is now 3 years old - that shit cray! Happy bloggiversary to meee... xx

My new Jeffrey campbell Litas!

So I did something very naughty...I bought another pair of Litas. Right before I'm about to leave for university. HOWEVER I have justified it to myself as a) they are good quality and thus will last a long time b)  They were £115 (with free postage) and are going for about £145 in Office and c) I've sold off my old plain black leather Litas. Also they are really, really nice.

I got them from Doll Boutique who are still having a ridiculously well priced sale on some of their JC shoes here. There are Tardys and Damsels as well as Litas on sale too, I can't look at the site anymore though as I will probably accidentally order another pair or six.

More cat personal ads at the bottom of the box...not going to now I have two JC shoe boxes like this I'm starting to fancy cats a bit.

Aren't they pretty? The leather on these seems to be shinier than my plain leather pair were. Can't wait to wear them out! Do you own a pair of Jeffrey Campbells? xx

Red Rock Blogger Competition Entry

Red Rock, a fabby vintage and handmade clothing company are running a competition for fashion bloggers to win a goody bag. (See their post about it on their blog here). The idea is to pick one or more items of clothing from their website, style them how you wish and say a little bit about your outfit. Here is my entry!

Photobucket
I picked the high waisted dog prints shorts (a cute alternative to the antique cat print that's been popular recently) and paired them with the cropped I heart NY tee and the Viv collar, for an casual but fun daytime look. I added the black creepers to keep the outfit not too fussy as the shorts and tee have a print, and the Wayferers as they are always on trend!

You can check out Red Rock Fashion here. Will you guys be entering? xx

DIY simple spiked tank top | Tutorial

The other day when shopping I found a tank top in Zara which had a row of spikes/studs round the neckline...or it may have been on the shoulders. Anyways, I can't find a picture online to show you guys but frankly it wasn't worth the £20 price tag so I decided to make one myself.

Hope this tutorial was useful guys, just a quick fyi that if you put spikes on the shoulders of any clothing (like I did) be wary of putting tight fitting jackets over the top as they start to poke through!
Am absolutely exhausted from working today, especially as it's randomly SO hot! English summers either seem to be hose-pipe ban boiling or constant rain and gloom, you can't win! Off to find a fan and sleep naked in front of it, laters guys xx

How to get pink dye out of your hair (without bleaching)

I've gone back to being an ombre blonde! Whilst trying to achieve this I couldn't find any tips online on how to get pink dye out of hair so thought I'd share my experience. Recently I decided to change the colour of my dip dye. To do so I needed to get back to my blonde ombre underneath as a base for re-colouring my hair.

What I hadn't anticipated is that having layered blue dye on top of my pink dip dye to get it blue/purple I now had 2 layers of colour to strip back to get to the bleached hair beneath. And, as I have discovered, pink (especially dark pink) is  BITCH to get out of your hair.

So I had a pink dip dye with some blue bits thrown in...
Photobucket
Then put blue dye over the top of it to get this...
Photobucket
I used TWO boxes of bleach (this is only for the ends of my hair mind) and bleached it three times. This stripped back the blue and purple to the pink underneath (see the first picture). However no matter how many times I bleached my hair again I could not get past an orangey flamingo pink colour to the bleach blonde beneath.
Photobucket
What I hadn't realised is that I should've used a colour remover kit first, and save my hair the damage of bleaching. I bought Colour B4 (normal version as the pink was quite light) and within half an hour (instead of an hour and half bleaching) I was back to blonde.

I could actually see the pink fading from my hair as it worked. 20 minutes later and a quick rinse and I was back to my ombre (and possibly blonder than before). I used some silver shampoo (I got this one from lloyds pharmacy for about £3 and left for about 3 minutes to reduce any orange tones and bam back to blonde.
Photobucket
The Colour B4 had worked so well I had to rinse out the silver shampoo quickly before I went from blonde to lilac. I then followed the silver shampoo with some Pantene Rescue Treatment Masque for a couple of minutes to condition my hair.
Photobucket
Wish I'd done this before and saved myself some money, and damage to my hair by bleaching. Also definitely an easy way to change your dip dye colour if you get bored of it!
Photobucket

Blonde again!

Now I just need to decide what colour to dye my ends next...thinking green. xx

FOTD #6 - Miss Scarlet in the drawing room with the candlestick

Photobucket
Photobucket
(sorry I look so moody)
Photobucket
Face - Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse in sand, Bobbi Brown colour corrector in bisque, ELF high definition face powder - Eyes - Bourjois Clubbing liquid eyeliner in ultra black, Blink and Go lengthening mascara, HD brows palette, Ebay false lashes (cut in half) - Lips - Topshop lipstick in Hazard

The reason for the title is because I went to a murder mystery party last night, my eye make up was different but I still wore the red lippy! Sadly I wasn't a Miss Scarlet-esque character, but a 60 something legal secretary (I wasn't the murderer, in case you were wondering). Still wore the necklace though, it's so fake but I love it. The lashes I'm wearing look too Essex-intense with a full band but I tried snipping them in half here, and they're so much easier to apply! I layered both halves on top of one another in these pics but I think just one demi lash on each would be perfect for a slightly more glam daily make up look.

I've also gone back to my blonde ombre (will have a post up on how I achieved this tomorrow), and went a bit cray with the bleach so I now have a sort of hair streak...oops! xx

Barry M Lip Paint no 62/Vibrant Pink - Review

Photobucket
Photobucket
This was an impulse purchase, I suddenly realised I had a load of Boots points to spend so decided to get this. I hadn't actually tried a Barry M lipstick before and I'm really impressed with the results.
Firstly the colour is amazing. The shade I bought is literally the brightest pink I own. It's pinker than a pink thing that went to pink university and got a first in being pink. It's pretty much the ultimate barbie pink.
Photobucket
For fans of the neon trend this is your perfect lipstick. If you lard it on, this is the kind of result you get:
Photobucket
Okay so I cranked the brightness up on this using picasa cos my camera is shite, but it is literally this colour in real life. Absolutely gorge. And as for its staying power, I wore it during dinner and the only wearing I could see was on the innermost part of the lip, and it was so unnoticeable that the camera couldn't capture it.
Photobucket
(please excuse shoddy editing, trying to learn how to use GIMP)
Photobucket
I bough this lippy on holiday, and if I wore it during the day I patted it on gently and then rubbed in with a finger for a subtle, lip stain like effect.
Overall I'm uber impressed with this lipstick. It doesn't fade to leave that unattractive 'I'm just wearing lipliner' look either. Have you guys tried any Barry M lipsticks? xx
